Kidlat Awards Festival 2010: PURE CREATIVITY
The 2010 Kidlat Awards Festival will again be held at the Boracay Regency Hotel this year. The dates to mark are Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 April. It’s another opportunity for the advertising industry’s creative leaders to review the year’s best work, network and learn from some of the leading professionals in the region.
Guest judges are: Tay Guan Hin of JWT Asia Pacific, who is also heading the Outdoor jury at Cannes Lions this year; Eugene Cheong of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, Asia’s most awarded copywriter. and Marcus Rebeschini from Y&R Asia Pacific, who has previously been named ‘Advertising Person of the Year’ by Campaign Brief Asia.
Two young creative teams will be competing to represent The Philippines in the Cannes Young Lions competition. They will compete in the Film and the Cyber categories, and will be funded by the Creative Guild and generous industry sponsors. It all means that the country has two great chances to shine in the South of France this year.
The Guild has expanded Outdoor, Integrated and Direct competitions and there are more technical and craft awards too. Finally, to mark the end of the ‘Noughties’ we will be choosing the Kidlat Ads of the Decade in TV, Radio and Print (the only categories which we had in 2000!).

The Creative Guild was founded in 1984 to promote Filipino Creativity, as part of the 4As of the Philippines and Adboard. Since then it has awarded the best work in the advertising and related industries on an annual basis. The Kidlat awards are among the most sought-after in the industry. Since 2008 the Guild has held its annual awards show in Boracay. This year’s Guild President is David Guerrero of BBDO Guerrero / Proximity Philippines. The board consists of Vice President Kat Limchoc (PC&V), Director for Communications Dave Ferrer (JWT), Director for Young Creatives Ompong Remigio (Campaigns and Grey), Director for Industry Noel Bermejo (McCann Erickson) and Co-directors for Competition: Eugene Demata (DM9 Jayme Syfu), Jake Tesoro (TBWA\SMP) and Raoul Panes (Leo Burnett).
