Group Executive Creative Director
Leo Burnett Group Singapore
Upon graduating with a degree in Marketing from California in 1992, Chris began his advertising career when he returned to Singapore and joined JWT.
Over the years since, Chris has had stints with the Singapore offices of DY&R, Batey Ads and Impiric before spending the last 11 years at Leo Burnett; where he’s been the Executive Creative Director of the Jakarta, Bangkok, and for the last four years, Singapore offices respectively.
A member of the Leo Burnett Global Creative Board and assigned with regional responsibilities over the creativity of Leo Burnett Southeast Asia offices, Chris has worked on major campaigns both locally and regionally. These include campaigns for brands like Mercedes-Benz (SE & North Asia region), MCYS, McDonald’s (SE Asia), Samsung, P&G (AAI region) as well as Philip Morris to name a few. He’s also served as Regional Executive Creative Director on P&G (AAI) and Citi-SSB (formerly Salomon Smith Barney) for the Asian region.
Creatively, Chris has numerous awards to his credit and his work has been recognised by juries across Cannes, Clio, One Show, D&AD and a host of other creative shows globally and regionally. In 2005, he was also one of the few to be given the Cannes Young Director of the Year Award for his work in directing films/commercials – an award jointly organised by the highly respected Shots and Commercial Film Producer of Europe (CFP-E).
Over the years, Chris has also been privileged to have sat on juries at Cannes, Spikes Asia, London International Advertising Awards and the New York Festivals (Main Jury) to name a few and served as Chairman of the Singapore Creative Circle Awards (CCA) in 2008. In 2009, he was named the IAS Hall of Fame’s Creative Director of the Year and in 2010 was ranked as one of the top 30 creatives in Asia-Pacific by Campaign Asia.
A relatively new yet exuberant father, he’s currently finding it hard to juggle weekends between his 3 year old boy and his other long time love, golf.
